    Well, Tuesday didn't work out too bad for Cheshire, but now the warnings are out for the Weekend with the Met Office a bit undecided as to how bad it's going to be, or exactly where it's going to be.:dunno::scratch::what::D

    Of course there will be lots of SNOW in Scotland tomorrow
    It is just attention seeking headlines
    They will also say the cockbridge to tomintoul road is closed due to heavy snow

    Well it would be, it is on top of the Cairngorms, a ski resort, the road gets snowed in about August every year :-)

    They do not say that on the be very afraid do not drive weather reports

    Looking at the latest from the met office the forecast storm for the end of the week will only affect southern parts.

    Most of the strong winds appear to be over France.

      The island has been battered again this afternoon and evening severe to storm force gales. This time we have damage, trees are down and coastal roads are closed.

      With the wind coming from the south-west my home has not suffered, it's sheltered from the worst from that direction. Will do a check in daylight tomorrow.

        Everything has calmed down now. The only thing to suffer was my carport again. The cross beams are gradually being loosened and any more strong winds might mean it has to be dismantled.

        Today, the temperatures dropped to 2c and light snow on our mountain road.

        We're forecast snow too in Derbyshire for late tonight and up to mid-day Friday, temperatures are also forecast to carry on steadily dropping over the next few days, nothing as bad as last winter but day time highs of 3 and -4 at night for Sunday - proper winter weather :D

        Well, it looks like the snow, in quantity, won't be coming as far North as Cheshire.:scratch::dunno::D We might get a few wintery/snow showers but not the amount first forecast. Still, they're predicting a cold snap for the next few days.:what:

          The forecast storm/gales never arrived, it was diverted (by Cameron I think)
