Nice haul, when did you plant them?

Planted 4th April well chitted. It was later than planned as my saved seed all rotted overwinter, kept too damp. So I had to buy fresh.

I planted mine outside 30th March but their first initial growth got destroyed by frost on April 25th.

I'm wondering if I should water them again, we have another scorcher of a week forecast

I've been watering mine every other day, giving them a proper soaking till water runs out the bottom. It's surprising how much they need.

My Potatoes grown in Pot Bags are suffering with the heat, some are all floppy, will have to cover them with dust sheets tomorrow.

No JWK, the compost is quite damp. They do get the Sun mostly all day.

My first few Swift Potatoes grown in bags. My daughter & Grandaughter won't eat them so I pick when needed. Happy days. IMG_20230621_110953.jpg

Some of my Maris Peer, pulled 7 weeks early due to the plants flopping and having a fungal infection.

And cooked this morning ready for a salad at lunchtime, which we have just scoffed, homegrown potatoes always taste so good.

I was thinking the very same @john558 considering it was quite early to be harvesting I was happy with what came out.

This is the fungal infection that I mentioned in my earlier post.

I was given some good advice on another forum that it looks like Septoria leaf spot which I agree with and to remove any infected stems and leaves.

But looking at how bad it is would you just cut your losses and remove the lot and hope you get a half decent harvest.

Plants are 11 weeks old, so 6 weeks short of the harvest date.
