Let them dry out @Sheps otherwise there is a chance they may sprout if wet.

Yes I remember those posters and having to ask my Mum what they meant.

I hope it doesn't establish, wonder how they stopped them spreading. They had more effective pesticides in those days, anyone got DDT in their shed?

I saw an old episode of heartbeat a while back and there was one on the wall in the police station.
Obviously just a prop as when that was made it had been wiped out but added to the authenticity of the time.

I wonder why they stuck them in Police Stations? Post offices I can understand.

I suspect that at the time it was considered of public interest and people probably were expected to notify the police if they found any, who would then contact the relevant department.
Remember this was Dixon of Dockgreen days, when you could go up to a copper ask him the time.:roflol:

Bad news. They also attack tomatoes, peppers, aubergines... keep your eyes open!

Some of my potatoes (a gift, unknown variety, red) have grown very well, and fruited like mad.

Has anyone here grown potatoes from seed? I'm feeling experimental.

I have, my reply will be don't bother, but experiment if you want to.
You can grow from stem cuttings as well.
