Rosa,Ã?£144 for that lot is a good price for all that is being done.I wish I could remember how much we paid for Tina all those years ago but I am sure it was nearly Ã?£100 then, though she did have her dew claws at the front taken off at the same time because they were hanging loose and kept catching on things and made her cry out, never heard about the tumours before with microchipping but anything is possible these days.Hope you get a vet sorted soon. kandy its £144 and an extra £18.50 for chipping but need to look into this further before i have her micro-chipped, when i decide to make appointment with the vet going to ask him about this chipping and tumours iff theres a connection.
wondering iff this was seen in older dogs as they do tend to get tumours with age.

Woo,don't worry,we had Tina microchipped and she was OK.It is like everything else that they can get,not every dog will get problems, even with not having them speyed.Speying is more important,as the risk of getting Pymetra and Mammory tumours is higher in unspeyed dogs.Don't panic folks as these things don't automaticly spell a death sentance for the dogs

kandy have you heard of this before, i hadnt until this morning, It hasnt put me off having her micro-chipped but i need to see the vet before i decide.
Spaying of course is very important and i,m certainly decided on getting rosa spayed before she gets any older as shes 3 in august.
not just because of the risks it involves when shes older its the mess and having to leave her in one place thats not fair on her.

With dogs, Ive always thought a colar and ID tag are better than a microchip as they dont shed colars like cats and the dog can be recognised as owned.

My Vet likes to leave microchipping for atleast two months due to the size of needle involved.

As to micro chipping, the chip seems to move around.
When I have my dogs annual jab done I always get the vet to see if he can find the chip, it usually takes ages as its moved down around the neck.
Strikes me that if they are that difficult to find with the scanner, they cant be much good, as I'm sure that if my dog was checked for a chip, and you didn't know for sure that there was one, you'd give up long before finding it.

pete after listening to this its putting me off having rosa chipped not only will i have the worry of tumours dont like the idea of a foreign object moving around in my dog.
we have got to think would we have it done iff the government brought it out that everyone in britain had to be micro-chipped, going to give this some very serious thought.
the spaying yes i agree with for my dog as its her health later on in life i am considering.
    thanks for this info.

hi pete. When i go to the vets to get rosa spayed i am going to ask the vet about all of this micro-chipping then i will take it from there and decide what to do.
In the past i have heard this before about the chip moving, rosa has a collar and tag on and she never goes out alone in any case so its not like she can get out unless she flys over the balcony :D :D
