Primroses over the years

      I found a few pictures I took last year when I discovered a field full of Cowslips.

      This last one I've seen for donkeys' years as they are on the other side of a drainage ditch but I'd never taken photos before last year. The field is actually part of a wild meadow & I'd never seen them before.

          Wild Primroses are very common here but Cowslips are more localised, there are lots growing where they do but they're not along every road like the Primroses, they're just seen in a few locations but plentiful in those places.
          One of the places is along a grass verge in an industrial estate !

            I think cowslips grow in limey areas. They were growing on the downs in Stroud when my mother in law lived there but primroses were rare. The opposite here in Cornwall. I have lots of the wild ones and some Jack in the Green and a few gold laced ones which someone was selling at the end of their lane but the big fancy ones never seem to last for me.
