Yes Ziggy, you warned me about the Kodak the day after we bought it! :wallbanging: Reading back throught this thread it looks like Canon's come out well, but they are probably a bit toppish in price. Good stuff though, I have a Canon camera. :)

We had an old Epson before the Kodak, so don't know whether to go back to one of those or perhaps HP.

Epson are good as well Sheal and about the cheapest to run in terms of ink costs. My current printer is a Brother, I chose it mainly becuase it has 4 separate ink cartridges for the 3 colours plus black. So I can just change one cartridge if one colour runs out, it has been cheap to run but it is not very good quality. Last time I changed a cartridge a little plastic lug broke off, when it runs out I won't be able to get it out in one piece - shame as it's only 2 years old.

Until fairly recently I was involved in Printer Inks.
Certainly the Epson range has good quality 3rd Party Inks available which gave £7 for a set of 4 retail price for a large portion of the Epson range - and they were interchangeable with the originals, so you didn't need to change all if only 1 ink emptied.

We got our replacement for the Kodak printer today and decided to go back to an Epson. Problems though.........I can't get it to install, typical! So I'll be making a phone call in the morning to the shop I bought it from, if that doesn't work I'll be shouting for my son-in-law. :)

Not had a printer for over 5 years now - never missed it ! If I need a print just forward it to work and print it - Personally I think printers are the work of Beelzebub , they know exactly the right moment to fault out ---- "printer not recognised" and hundreds of other "What the hell does that mean ! " messages - go paperless :snork:

Oh the Luxury, I hate printers and all the hassle they bring, plus the expense, unless they are up and running

Julie trusts me so much she just goes to Boots and prints them off herself :-)

Problem solved and it's now installed. Believe it or not the printer wasn't recognising my computer. Shouldn't it have been the other way round. :)

Another good deal on at the moment with Tesco giving 500 points with every 2 HP carts, so I've been stocking up on singles rather than combo packs to maximise the points. The ones I use are now all sold out at Tesco Direct where a further 13% was possible (£10 off £75).

On our last instore shop we also used a double points voucher, so this is how it works (based on only 2 catridges, rather than clearing the display as I did):

            Spend

            2 x £7.99 (I use HP364) = £15.98

            Points

Double points on purchase = 3
            Promotional points = 500
            Bage re-use = 1
Recyling points for empty catridges = 200

Total points = 704. These points will be worth £14.08 at the next 'double up' promotion, can be sold for double their face value on ebay, or exchanged for 4 x their face value to get 'deals' such as National Geographic subscription, RAC, RHS, NT membership, etc., but as these always have a more expensive 'full price' than getting a good deal elsewhere, you're probably only getting 3 x their value.

So basically, if you double up and/or exchange for deals you get free (my favourite price) HP ink cartridges. Before they sold out online (which hasn't surprised me), and by using money off codes they were even cheaper than free (every little helps).
