I'm now getting that using W 10 + MS Edge, using W 10 + IE 11 simply results in uploads hanging up.

Maybe your images have been blocked for other reasons? :yikes:

I've been getting a message saying Shockwave has crashed??????
When that happens The file upload button appears to have some strange black image over it.

I just clicked on the bar at the top which said reload shockwave

@Scrungee - you can't copy and paste an image without saving it somewhere locally first; if you copy the image, you are copying the .mht file that the site uses to display the image. You would have to choose 'Save image as....' and save it somewhere locally temporarily and then upload it once more. Can you email me a copy of the image that you tried to upload please, and I will see if there is anything notable. Also, what browser are you using?

@Jiffy & @pete - Shockwave, also known as Shockwave Flash or Adobe Flash is a dead cert to cause problems with the upload of pictures if it is in any way not happy (usually wanting an update or a reinstall) - you can update or install it from here: Adobe - Adobe Shockwave Player

Updating Java and Flash are vital to avoid problems with images and videos on websites (be it viewing or uploading), to the point that you are virtually guaranteed something isn't going to work properly if they haven't been updated.

Edge is utter garbage in my opinion, and much as Firefox is currently being a huffy so and so, I would only consider Edge after I had exhausted all other options (Chrome etc); for anyone that is using Edge and having problems, try a proper different browser, and make sure that everything is updated.

Ermmm, I'm using Edge @fat controller and have never had a problem with it. Previously on Windows 7 - Google/Chrome and Firefox were disastrous for me when I switched to them trying to iron out problems loading photo's I was experiencing on IE.

            Thanks, but no thanks.

I think I'll simply keep posting pics using Dropbox until the next Xenforo update comes along and sorts out all these problems, as it has always done in the past. I've previously wasted far too much time changing all sorts of stuff, only to find everything gets sorted out with the next software update

yep, what I get too. not sure the same number size. but the same error occurred notice. I have given up in general. most my pics have to be put up in facebook and then I download them to my computer --then this forum will take it. But that action is not an intended one, but unfortunately a after thought to sharing pics here. I think my older camera still works here. but I am using my new one mostly or my cell.

I uploaded some pictures from work yesterday (I know naughty) The difference between there and I my home system is work runs Windows 7 and I run Windows 10 at home.
My problems began just after the last Windows 10 update on 25th January. May be coincidence.

@redstar You don't really need to understand it (I've only just got the hang of it :noidea:) but if you right click your mouse on the photo you will get a drop down menu. Go down to where it says 'Properties' (usually at the bottom of the menu on my computer) and left click on it. In the info that it puts up there will be a bit that says 'file size' and followed by a number and 'MB'. If that number is above 2MB I understand that the GC software can't cope with it directly.

If that is the case then one of the mods will be able to advise you what to do. :dbgrtmb:

                  Has this now changed/reverted?

Testing, will edit in a minute if it works ...

EDIT: Quoting an image, then selecting the bbcode editor button to remove everything apart from what's between the img tags (and then copying and pasting wherever required) enables an image to be posted elsewhere without saving locally then re-uploading (I was sure there was a way of doing it).

Not uploaded from my local drive, but from the originsl attachment:
                  Code:
                  [IMG]https://gardenerscorner.co.uk/attachments/july-06-060-jpg.76338/[/IMG]
And simply opening image in a new tab then copying and pasting between img tags (essentially the same thing) also seems to work now
