Problems with linking pictures from external hosts.

      Given that it is 2024, I have tweaked the settings for visitors.. and if I have been successful, they should now be able to see attached photos...

        I've just checked on a different browser, and indeed non-members can now see images in posts:

          The picture hotlinking is definitely a GC specific issue as I've successfully made test posts on several other forums, on gardening and on non gardening forums.

          On the other hand, I am very happy that the picture visibility issue for non members has been amended. The barrier to access has been removed - I can confirm that it now works. Many thanks and much appreciated, Fat Controller.

            My pleasure - glad that bit has at least worked. The only other thing I have up my sleeve is to rebuild the database, which I will do, but not until the weekend as it ties up my PC for quite some time and requires me to be there throughout. I generally try to do it on a Sunday morning when site traffic is generally lower to prevent problems and disruption, so will endeavour to do it this Sunday if I can.

            There is a possibility that it is the site host's servers that are blocking or being blocked by imgur - goodness knows why that would be the case, but sadly there is no way I can find out. I am tempted to create an imgur account and have a fiddle on their side too though...

                The odd thing there is that I got the post alert on my phone, and it shows in the email. It is also on screen as I am replying, yet as soon as I post this, it will disappearL
