    PS Sorry this reply is late - I have been away from the forum and not feeling so grand. Board members, please don't hesitate to ever PM me if you have a problem - as long as I'm around and feeling vaguely human, I will always try and give an answer or at least some possibilities.

    I had a problem with my youngest cat being sick, lethargy not eating or drinking. The first treatment consisted of anti sickness jabs, anti inflammatorys, a drip overnight, antibiotics. x rays and bloods taken. She was ok for two weeks then she started being sick again this time the vets gave her a steriod injection and sent me packing she was ok for 2 hours then started being sick again. I had to take her to the emergency vets as is was a weekend. She was kept in on a drip, x rays again, bloods again etc etc. He operated on her the next day and removed a hairball. So I though that was that then three weeks went by and hey presto she started being sick again, exactly the same symptoms as on the previous occasions. She had antisickness and antibiotics for a week. I have since kept her on a very bland diet as I am convinced its food intolerence. So far so good but the vets fees came to over £1500.00 thankfully she is insured. Does not help with the anguish of watching them suffer though. For me the £10.00 a month is money well spent. Hope your pussy gets well really soon.

    Cookie Monster.

    Wow, what a fantastic reply..thanks ever so much.

    Number 2. type 2 is called feline pruritic alopecia is exactly the condition the fur is in..

    FLEA ALLERGY

    We do use Frontline Spot on but from what you have said it would appear not regularly enough.

    Couldn't have described it better myself. You seem to have hit the nail on the head Cookie. Woodâ??s Light test? Yes.

    One again a big thank you and this afternoon will pop out and get the Frontline. As we have four this ain't gonna be cheap, but really want to cure the problem for his sake.

    And may I thank everyone else for input. Much appreciated.

    =====================

    I'm sorry you are not very well Cookie and I hope you are felling better soon. We shall follow your first advice and see what the results are....if there are still problems then to the vet we shall go.

    Hi Kath.

    Well in that case, have you any idea how to cure selective deafness in a Patterdale Terrier, as he thinks he can't hear you if he cant see you, heh, heh.:D

    Unless you shout biscuit then amazingly his hearing returns.;)

    Personally I find tin-opener noises cure most selective deafness cases! :D

    Unfortunately, I lost a little 12 week old kitten (got run over) but he was very forwards. He spotted that his food came from the electric can opener...and I kept hearing sounds of it working...I used to go into the kitchen and he was pressing down the lever to attract my attention bless him.

    Just catching up on everything (isn't it amazing what goes on if you don't come on for a few days!), so I hope Kev is starting to get better Tweaky.

    CM, I hope you are feeling better too. I think I know (from previous talks) what you are suffering from and I do know how you feel, seriously. So, I hope you are feeling better and managing to come on here even if you don't feel up to commenting.

    cheers
