I preferred the characters and story arcs in Life on Mars. I thought Ashes to ashes was a bit more contrived. The comparison in the two historical eras I thought very interesting especially within the police.

I liked Keely Hawes in Tipping The Velvet. That was a bit weird. I never took to her in spooks. She came across as a bit naive and wimpy. I guess, perhaps that was the point. She was supposed to be inexperienced.

Now I'm the other way around. I guess that it is probably because I can relate to the eighties as that was when I grew up.

 

@lonk I've watched Ashes to Ashes when it was on the bbc. At the moment Keeley Hawes is in the Durrells.

You should watch Line of Duty if you can get hold of it. She's in that as well.

 

Switching the TV on to "the main, cookery/house/antiques" channels (either BBC1or 2), for the "red button news" having muted the sound, I could have thought I was watching a "who can wear the most eyeliner" competition amongst several women who appeared on the screen.

It was presented by "The Queen of the eyeliner," clad and posing in, a "Mrs Peel leather cat-suit,"(or maybe it was just a really tight fitting designer wetsuit), Celia Sawyer.
Apparently, it's another naffin' house programme. "Your house in their hands," where some foolish participants let young people who call themselves "designers" totally mess up their houses.

Never let anyone tell you that a bit of Schadenfreude, doesn't make for watchable TV, for some on dull afternoons.

 

I've watched every series so far. Damned good series and Keeley still looks good even when she's looking haggard

 

That's great, i think we get the next series next year.

I was counting how many times the couple said nice.

 

Line of Duty is on Netflix.

I watched the first episode of Lizzie Bordon on Netflix. I'm not sure yet whether I'll get into it or not.

Had to put it on surround system to understand what they were saying.

 

Seen 6th episode of a place to call home Regina isn't the same, she's on their side.

Pity the next series is the last one. The writer planned it that way.
