Last night, Anita Rani from Countryfile did the first of two programmes on the making of a Bollywood movie. Mrs Shiney was watching it when I came into the room and it was quite interesting.

The amount of effort that they have to put in in a very short time was phenomenal. They needed some extras (500) and had people going out into the town (being filmed in Jodhpur) and recruiting people from bars and coffee shops etc. They needed people to play the British army in the times of the Raj and just picked tourists. Not bad if you're there on a budget and could do with some extra money. :dbgrtmb:

We found it more interesting because we were able to recognise places as we were there earlier in the year.

That's great, i like Anita Rani. She did well on Strictly. It will start next month and they're revealing who's going to be on it this week.

Just finished watching the last episode of this. It was great, the last episode kept having flash backs and it was hard to understand it.

I got back late last night so turned the TV on whilst having a cuppa, think it was about midnight, and 'The Real Marigold Hotel', set in Udaipur this time, was on. It was a bit on the slow side but quite interesting.

They seem to be really liking it there but kept mentioning how colourful, noisy and crowded it was. They didn't complain about the heat :noidea: We were there in February and we didn't mind the noise and crowds (after all, that's part of the atmosphere that we go for :)) and can have the peace and quiet when we're back home.

          It's an interesting place.

Just watching the latest version (2016)of Swallows and Amazons and possibly @shiney would like it as it is filmed mostly in the Lake District so some beautiful scenery

Just realised as well that we I am sure saw Swallow on dry land when we were over on the Isle of Wight in 2016 in Cowes week but there were so many people around it I am sure I never got any photos of it but will have to check:biggrin:

It's from the same Stables as Line of Duty, so it should be good.

@Kandy Yes, the scenery is beautiful and you can still take a trip on the old steamship 'Gondola' - built in 1858.

              P1280825.JPG

A couple of years ago we were up there with a group of friends and they hired the main salon for afternoon tea to celebrate our anniversary. :blue thumb:

              P1280775.JPG

I was even allowed to drive it :hate-shocked:
              P1280863.JPG

It's well worth going on the Gondola and they give you a run down on the history of the lake, the area and all about the book.

              P1260745.JPG

The island referred to in the book is quite small
              P1280851.JPG

and the only good access is through the little inlet.

Good morning for anyone who is interested in our environment ,there is a programme on tonight at 8.30pm BBC it is "Drowning in Plastic! although I don't watch TV much I shall be watching this:smile:

                  Plastic is choking our oceans.

It’s strangling seals, filling the stomachs of seabirds, entangling whales and killing coral – virtually everything ,that is beautiful and natural.

The brilliant Liz Bonnin presents this comprehensive look at the reality of the plastic issue, travelling the globe to speak to everyone and anyone who is working towards a solution to this devastating problem.

@shiney Sorry missed your piece on the Lakes and belated congratulations on reaching your half century:love30::wub2: We have never been on the Gondola as in the past when we used to go up to the lakes we had a dog and wasn’t sure how she would cope with going on a boat.We used to take her on the steam trains and she didn’t like them either.

Was watching Flog It last Friday teatime from Althorp and saw the chap on the next allotment plot to ours selling a gold charm bracelet that he had inherited when his mum died and as his wife already has one decided to sell it and he got a good price for it:yay:

@wiseowl We watched that programme about the plastic and it was heartbreaking seeing those sea creatures tangled up in fishing lines and those flesh footed petrol chicks swallowing all those pieces of plastic and then dying when they reached the water:cry3: When we are away on holiday or out walking I often pick up pieces of litter including pieces of glass which go into my rucksack/bum bag which I get rid of once we are back at base camp/home.The programme was a real eye opener:sad:

Enjoyed watching The Body Guard, Vanity Fair, now watching Strangers and The Cry but can’t get into it as it is a lot different to the true story of the dingo taking the baby in Australia. The family were camping at the time so the baby got taken from the tent not out of a car seat and he didn’t have an ex wife or another daughter:nonofinger:

Right must go as I have back problems at the moment and sitting here for too long is killing me:sad:
