It's based on a novel, not the dingo taking the baby, your thinking of Cry in the Dark.

My apolgies @Logan as I didn’t read the write up about The Cry so assumed it was based on the story where the Dingo took the baby from the tent. The storyline does seem a bit similar so perhaps the writer of The Cry was using parts of the original story when the couple were put on trial.I did watch A Cry In The Dark all those years ago when Meryl Streep played Lindsey:smile:

A two parter based on a true story this is superb. The second part is on at 9pm next Saturday, BBC4.

Love at the Christmas Table one of my favourite Christmas romcoms is on Thursday 9.00am on Freeview Channel 62. The song is addictive and unavailable anywhere else.

A Gift Wrapped Christmas. Another romcom 3.00am Friday or 9.00 am Sunday. Same channel

I'm getting in the Christmas mood with my new leccy piano.

Watched the cry, she killed her husband in the end, because he gave the baby the wrong medicine and blamed her. He didn't tell her everything and she found out.

Beck is back on BBC4 at 9pm Saturdays. It's not as good as The Bridge or Spiral but it is very good. On a par with Line Of Duty I think.

I'm also doing one episode per night of Before We Die (another Scandi crime drama) which I've had on my Tivo box since March time. Very good indeed.

Finally, one morning last week I flicked the box on and Kojak was just starting. I haven't seen it since I was a kid and I don't think I realised just how good it was for its time. A most enjoyable blast from the past.

Caught some of the film, War Horse. Fantastic. It's uncanny at times wth dogs horses and humans. There is this really close bonding. As if each is looking out for the other one. Yes I have to admit, this old softie ended up with a wet eye.
I remember so often, Val would be watching something, with the tears streaming down her face. I'd usually say, "What's up with you? Oh it's so lovely or,it's so sad.

I have to confess. When ever I hear chain saws or see films of forests being cut down, I always get a lump in my throat. I always recall the quote from the forestry commission. It takes sixty years to grow a tree, just sixty seconds to detroy it.

Haven't they changed part of the title to include Seven Vertically Challenged People of Male Gender? Or is that too sexist?

I watched the last two episodes of Before We Die last night. Superb! If you get the chance to watch it go for it. The (good guy) characters lack the humanity of Sara Lund (The Killing) or Kurt Wallander, for these guys it is all about the result. At times you feel the storyline stretches credibility with regard to what you could really get away with but then you recall what has come to light about what real police investigations really have got away with regarding deep undercover operations and you think that the storyline was actually quite restrained.
It falls short of The Bridge and Spiral in terms of greatness but not by much. It is right up there with Wallander (the Krister Henrickson version) and The Killing. It also has the advantage of starring the always great Marie Richardson.
