This one was a nightmare as a deck belonging to the next door one the one side, a trellis with clematis on and an acuba hedge on the other side.

No room to break out the concrete, couldnt lift the deck boards so only solution to drill out the rotten wood, plane the new post down a fraction, a drop of expanding foam and drop it in. A nightmare.

Today, starting building a sleaper retaining bed, also extending the patio, a new section of path and a couple of other bits.

No back gate so acess meant carrying the sleapers 200 yards along a path, through the back of a gas tank area, up a bank and through a section of taken down fence then finally down some steps.

The sleapers are Class 1 and weigh almost 140kg each! 10 to shift plus 1 ton of top soil. Had my old man labouring for me today.

    The acess:

Finished it off today, been doing other work earlier this week.

I usually trim the platic frame suround slightly hence the jigsaw.

Radiuse marked then cut from the front with the small grinder then drilled then turned and the back cut. No breakadges this way.

Finished, two tons of quality top soil later and shrubs planted. Not my choice of shrubs (customer had these shrubs already in pots, so transferd them the raised bed is to minimise summer watering):

My clearing saw a Husky 345 RX, V expensive machine but worth every penny, no back ache what so ever after 3 hours or indeed 8. Also inceredibly economic on fuel thanks to the cruise control.

Did the job in three hours and two reefuels as oposed to 4 and 4 hours with my old stihl FS400. with the price of fuel and the quantity of strimming work I do its noticably saving me money. The joys of modern tecnolodgy!!!

Hi ProGard, well i'll be honest & say that all the 'husky, cruise control, fuel' etc went flying over my head:) but i do love your work!

Anything that makes it easier for you is good enough for me. Wish you were nearer me so i could get you to quote for my garden. It's only small but a right mish mash of ground. never mind i'll just keep looking at your pics.

    keep up the good work.

    cheers

Hi progard! Enjoyed looking through your thread, and seeing the differences you've been making!

Are any of the pics from your own garden?
