LOL, Nigel you are now nit picking but yes there is a dead brown twig still to be cut away, as I already said they haven't been in this position for long, weren't pruned at all last year as I wanted them to recover properly from the shock of being moved....Whereabouts in Lincs, I'm on the Lincs/Rutland border, in the town where the four counties meet..

I know that well, my son married a Boston Lass, in fact from his garden we can watch the trains coming and going, we often visit, small world isn't it....

Thanks, Linclas for your contribution and photograph! OK the sprouting buds are perhaps not on brown shoot but are on OLD shoots! Sure similar has happened to me (and others) in the past, so thanks! If it has happened, I've never noticed it, so it'll be interesting if it does sprout on a deliberately pruned hoot!
Nothing showing on my Peace but only couple of days now since pruned!

Further to my post re pruning into brown, Old, stems. Have had one or two buds arrise, though most from greener stems, including the green basal shoots. As befits a Peace plant, its really developing well with a great shape!
