Pruning weeping willow

    we cut our willow down to 2 pig tails and within 6 week it was 100 times bushier and touchin the floor:mad: its as bad as fushcia :OUCH: x

    I have quite a large weeping willow on my plot and it not only provides shade for car parking underneath, but also for plants that temporarily need it, but more importantly a cool area to site a table and chairs to relax in between working during the heat of summer.

    The only pruning it needs is to stop the hanging branches getting caught in my car doors whilst parked underneath.

    my dad had a huge one in his garden in south africa .... it eventually caused damage to the swimming pool which had a thick layer of gunnite concrete ... the tree was approx 10 meters away from the pool

    a tree surgeon sorted it out in a day

    I still want to try growing one as a bonsai though
