 Ooh Kudu is a lovely tender dark lean meat, with a slight gamey taste.. Delicious I thought.. I do like venison though, not sure if that helped.. I have also eaten Bear Salami at a country fair out there & that was the best salami I have ever tasted, anywhere..!! Don't be afraid Woo be adventurous my friend I have eaten some strange meats but have nearly always been amazed by the flavour.. We have to try & savour as many of life's flavours we can I think... :thmb:

Kudu is good and I have eaten things like snake in South Africa (didn't know it at the time I was eating it :hehe:), Zebu in Madagascar (a variety of cow with a pronouced hump on its back), cupim in Brazil (a cut from the hump of a breed similar to the zebu - like brahmin cattle) and turtle in Namibia (nearly 50 yrs ago and before it was named Namibia) - cooked in its shell (buried in the sand overnight surrounded by hot stones).

They were all tasty but I can definitely recommend the cupim.

I've also had the traditional 'monkey gland steak' in South Africa but it is only beef with a sauce that is known as monkey gland.

Our Senior Cyclists Group of the Cambridge Cyclists Touring Club had a Car Assisted Ride today. We drove to The Angel at Larling, Norfolk. By special arrangement with the owners we parked at the pub, did a circular ride Southwards, back to lunch at The Angel, then another circular ride northwards, back to The Angel and then drove home. The majority of riders were 80+. Excellent lunch with a pint of Elgoods (of Wisbech) beer and a coffee afterwards.

Hi Alice travelled up to Perth For a weekend ,went by train for a change. we got in conversation with this chap who happened to be the chef at the hotel we were going to.
we shared a taxi from the train to the hotel. that night we went for our evening meal.
the chef was standing at the back of the servers. i selected the Venison,he instructed the servers to give me a large portion!! . it was beautiful but it could have fed a battalion.
not having a dog i could not ask for a doggy bag so i shoved as much as i could into my face.
that night( about one in the morning),woke up (sick as a parrot) i was calling on shooowaaay
for about an hour . Venison is lovely but very Rich .Nothing to do with the two bottles of red wine we had with our meal . music:cool:.

Lunch with (at) The Marquis of Granby (Stetchworth, Newmarket) tomorrow.
I have an extra 19miles to do, as my car is going to the garage tonight due to brake failure Saturday.
It would cost £90 for them to collect it, but my next door neighbour said he would take it on the trailer normally used for an 8 ton digger. I have some very good neighbours.

Edit: We took it tonight, it took about an hour and a half. Offered my neighbour cash for his fuel etc. but he refused, saying he would be insulted. Oh well, I shall have to make it square some other way.
