Bit of an update. Rosemary oil did the trick, as I trusted it would. Well, when I say I trusted it would, I mean I knew it could, but was not so certain it could work the miracle of getting a pulled muscle ready for a couple of hours or so of martial arts training within 36 hours. It did me proud. Deep Heat? Ibuprofen gel? Nah, rosemary oil is the way to go :)

This morning I managed to get right through our quarterly seminar, which basically involves hours of physical punishment where we get to do lots of stuff that is usually reserved for the much higher grades only, and we keep on training until the visiting master instructors decide they've had enough.

The quarterly seminar is always followed by testing for grading. CL1.1 tested, but I didn't this time. So having sat down with the spectators following the seminar, I thought 'my work here is done'. Then I noticed a bloke doing his test that is about my size and grade, and nobody of similar size or grade for him to demonstrate his moves on, or have a jolly good scrap with. At this point, one of the junior instructors wandered over to me and asked 'how's your leg today?'. So I volunteered, got called up, and allowed this bloke to demonstrate how he can throw an attacker to the floor in numerous different ways (I was the attacker), then my leg still had enough left to give him a right good fight (you have to have a controlled fight as part of your test to demonstrate that you know how to apply what you've learned). It was brilliant. My leg did let me know it was damaged, but it was just a slight twinge rather than a full blown agonising spasm.

So, leg mended, now I just need to sort out the the fingers of my left hand, which made a horrible crunching sound when I misjudged blocking an incoming kick :)
