Mine are growing on at a tremendous rate, these are in 8 inch pots and the plants are currently around 15"-16" tall from the soil level.

EDIT 14/5 am: 5 out of 6 now showing, less than 6 days after sowing
          .................................................................................................

I've had 2 more germinating pumpkins show this afternoon, so now 1 each of the 3 varieties that I sowed 2 seeds of each 5 days ago. Feel relieved that I didn't make a fool of myself by predicting 5 - 7 days and then waiting for weeks.

P.S. For comparison some cucumbers were up the day after sowing, followed by courgettes, butternut/custard squashes and marrows. Even marrow seeds saved from a biggun grown in 2006 germinated before the pumpkins.

Have you had any germinate yet?

Generally speaking, the weather south of me here in Cumbria is much warmer, I expect most if not all of you will catch and overtake me through the growing season....lets hope nobody has any ugly duckings!

Five out of six seeds now through 6 days after sowing, and the 6th (a 'Paton Twin') isn't going to because I checked it out just now (rather than leaving 7 days for a cautious poke around) and it was rotten despite keeping it warm, not too wet and making sure the soil above wasn't compacted. In both packets of Paton Twins seeds I received (managed to get 2 pkts), one seed appeared OK and the other a bit 2nd rate, and it was the latter that failed.

The race is now on (assisted by grow lights).

Mine has stalled since I potted it up and stuck it in the greenhouse, I've just covered it with fleece tonight as temps are getting low:

Right now don't laugh....but this is one....infact the only one of my 'paton twin giant' seeds that may be showing signs of promise.....ok ok ...but where there's life there's hope....this little fella was sown on the 5th of May 2012 and i aint giving up yet.....
It's not stopping me looking for more pumpkin seeds to sow though:heehee:

Sown 8 days ago, germinated/showing 3 days ago, and under grow lights as from today (I like the seed leaves to develop a bit before giving extra light in case they go excessively curly):
