    That's a shame scrungee.

RHS Wisley is just 10 minutes away I often pop there for a bit of exercise and to see what’s new. Each time I look in the model vegetable garden to compare theirs with mine. Yesterday I was dismayed to see a grand display of squashes and pumpkins being ripened. I usually come away feeling inadequate, this time their enormous Brussel Sprout plants with plump ready to pick florets got to me. I’ll have to stop going in that bit.

I'm growing Parthenon courgette variety, for the second year with good results. It's doesn't need pollinating, just lots of feed and water.

My back up Pumpkin loves this hot weather, although it won't be a contender I'll end up with one big enough to carve at this rate. It's just under the OTT table first measurement, so extrapolating backwards it's about 20 lbs:

Just measured mine again this morning, OTT measurement gives me 83lb, thats a 23lb increase in just over a week!!

I'm using a 5ft sewing kit tape measure and its now not big enough to measure the circumference, which is 62 inches!

        Steve...:)

Ive had a fun few mins catching up with this thread again.

Applause for Steve and Zigs and commiserations to those whose giants fell by the way side!

I hope your compost bins are large enough to contain the enormous mass of leaf and stem!

Steve, was the parent plant which supplied the initial seed any good for eating?

Sadly, you were too late with Jazbek. :D

Its such a shame, that information would have been really useful.
