    What a brilliant thread!

Can I have Alice in the Pumpkin Patch Sweepstake please? hap feet

When you are all passing out these monster pumpkin seeds to your gardening friends, the Gods of Comedy (and I!) will be forever grateful if you perhaps fail to mention they are in fact Giant Pumpkin Seeds.:yess::yess:

Imagine the consternation it would cause!

I once gave a sunflower plant to my friend, telling him it was a marrow & that he'd have to pin it down as it grew to keep it under control.:heehee::heehee::heehee:

One of mine is growing in a tonne of maturing compost in a dumpy bag. To get over the space problem i'm planning on training up the Ash tree & using cargo nets to support the fruit.

Other 3 are still in the cold frame.

Got the planting hole prepared last month:
It needed 6 wheelbarrow loads of muck, trouble is I only could spare a couple.

I sowed my seed a week ago, got 100% germination, 2 per pot. Removed the weaker ones yesterday. They will take 2 or 3 weeks before mine are ready for planting outside, I'll plant the two strongest plants.

Right, I might have to rethink my strategy, dont have any muck or an ash tree and cargo nets.
Looks like I'll just have to use the chemical approach, with gallons of water
