I don't have any cargo nets yet. But I do live near a harbour:WINK1:

Mine have all now germinated..100% germination. I've potted mine on into the biggest pots I have as the root growth is quite incredible and its still too early for me to plant outside yet. Secateurs here give a sense of scale. I'll be growing two plants only at our alottment plot and giving the rest away to other plot holders.

Its still not too late for me to send seed to anyone who wants to join in, please let me know as soon as possible. I can send out to 5 or 6 more members here.

Interesting that you are using large pots Steve, before planting out.

I'm hoping I've not shot myself in the foot here, planted one out yesterday and now its pretty windy.

My seedlings are 3 days old at most Pete, and roots where 5 to 6 inches long. I've read they dont appreciate root disturbance so decided to grow them on in the Polytunnel in big pots until its warm enough outside here in Cumbria so it does not check growth. We had 4 degrees on Tuesday night.

Not been much warmer at West Bay with that wind.

This one has been hardened off now. Just need to get those cargo nets:heehee: Could end up with a huge, ready decorated, Christmas tree.

      Looking good....

Here's one I grew in a large growbag last year, it was about the size of a beach ball....the seed was just from one of those little kiddies pots from Asda for 50p....
