Well it's in, my last remaining "giant" pumpkin is now planted in the top of my compost bin (one that has well rotted stuff in), I topped it up with some ever reliable Wickes compost and put her to bed :D, fingers crossed, it's now game on lol :D

Mine are sending out too many new runners, it's OK to snip these off if they are growing in the 'wrong' direction. Try and train the main runner in the direction you want it to go, they do need lots of space, I'm trying to get one of mine to grow in a big circle, the other along the top of a retaining wall. When my fruit have set then I 'stop' the main runner same as Bilbo says.

I'd get some traffic cones and use the Farnham road if I were in your wig/shoes John:thumbsup::heehee:

Mines making a break for the field next to the plot, which they have just cut the hay in. It'll be ok if they don't put the sheep in there again, but it might be stuffed if they pen the 15 Mexican Whooping Llamas there again for the Melplash Show:DOH:

Although a few weeks behind mine has just started producing a lot of flower buds; a bit too early to make out whether they're all male or there are female too....I'll keep you posted...:thumb:

I think we have a long way to go yet Steve.

We really need some decent humid weather with warm nights, a bit of a rarity this year up to now, and its getting late.

It's forecast to go very humid next week and with some rain too; so things might pick up the pace a bit :thumb:
