omg Ellen he's so teeny tiny :wub2: such an utterly scrumptious little chap:wub2:

hope the wee mans tummy feels better soon, vaccinations can leave them out of sorts for a bit, when Snoop got his first one he puked all over my mum on the way home in the car :eeew::rofllol: ah puppy memories, even the really gross ones become cute in time :rofllol:

you know your gonna need to share those pics with us (well...me)

He's been great. We've had a couple of naughty moments, and 'accidents' but we're all learning together!! I've started trying to really tire him out each time he's out, which seems to keep the complaining to a minimum when he's back in his crate ;) he had a quiet moment after playing...

Gosh he's a handful today! I can't seem to tire him out, and although after 5 minutes he's out like a light, he really creates before he falls asleep! Although he's still in his first week here, he often waits until he's back inside to have a number 2... and puppy pads are chew toys

                Advice please... :)

We think we've nailed stopping Reggie pooping in his bed overnight (changed his last meal time then us not going to bed until he's gone outside) but for the life of us we can't stop him having a wee in his bed overnight! Puppy pads don't seem to have an effect, he either sleeps on them or shreds them, and newspaper is the same. Short of midnight trips out with him to the garden, is there anything else I could try? (Apart from the doggie nappies I saw in pets at home...!)

Other than that he's settling in fine :) here's first bath time![IMG]

Ohhhh wow....he is just too cute Ellen....

I know some of the pads you can buy have 'something' impregnated in them to encourage them to 'go' on them....or you can by a little bottle of stuff that you put drops on the pads.....i've been searching through the cupboard to find mine but i can't find it....it could just be an anxiety thing ...have you given him one of your jumpers with your scent on to sleep with...just an idea:dbgrtmb:

Hi Loli :) the pads are supposed to have the wee-on-me stuff but it doesn't seem to have an affect! He doesn't seem to be anxious, I just think he's got a weak bladder at the moment ;)

I've never used a crate for my dogs so unsure of how the toilet thing would work...my two 'boys' had their bed in the kitchen surrounded by puppy pads and admittedly the kitchen was like a mine field first thing in a morning....i'm wondering if in a crate they can differentiate between bed and toilet areas if you get what i mean....it's just another thought:dbgrtmb:...i know many others use the crate method and swear by it....just curious:dbgrtmb:

We use a crate for Molly . They do seem to differentiate between the bed half and the feeding half and don't soil their bed , accidents apart . Luckily Molly was very good with the toilet training , once again accidents apart !
Two little training tips Ellen that we found . Molly used to get excited and become a bit nippy and mouthy, which hurts with needle teeth ! Our trainer to be said , when they are being naughty , lock them in another room , kitchen or hallway ( not the crate ) for 30 seconds . Any longer than this they forget why they are there. And if they are nippy squeal like another dog when they nip , this one worked really well ! And its great fun :dbgrtmb:

Thanks for the advice @Loli and @HarryS :)
He's in a crate but there's a fair bit of room, enough for it to be half bed, half puppy pads, but it doesn't seem to work. It doesn't help that he likes to rearrange the furniture! I think maybe it's going to be a case of midnight trips out in pyjamas until his bladder control improves!

I wouldn't worry too much Ellen, he is still very young to have bladder control, strangely, it is the small dogs that seem longer in getting the hang of it. My lab was just brilliant, my Cocker spaniel was OK, and my Bichon..................don't ask!!!!! :heehee:
