Flipping eck, what you killing them with? A Challenger tank? An exocet missile? Sounds a bit extreme to me. :)

The don't blow up as in explode, they blow up as in they swell and go hard. Its some kind of chemical reaction in the body or something, and it happens really quickly.

My dogs never seemed to mind tho, and would sit at the fridge hoping for a sample!

What sort of air rifle is able to kill a rabbit? My father in law used to have one which i borrowed and I was not happy when a rabbit just jumped up and ran off when i hit it. To kill i had to hit them right under the ears.
Incidentally i have heard about shotgun cartridges being very expensive as well. Would bullets for a .22 rifle be cheaper?

To own a rifle you need a firearms certificate, which I believe that you need specific permission from the person whos land it is you are going to be using it on, where as a shot gun license is much easier to obtain & use. Depending on the strength of the air rifle, you don't need a license to own some, but the more powerful ones you do.

Each police force have different ways of assessing you for your certificates/licenses etc, but a good gun shop would be able to help you out on cartridges (we used to buy by the 1000) and an air rifle.

    Hope This Helps!

(EDIT it is suppose to say one thousand, not a little waving man!)

I thought that it would be more difficult to get a license for a .22 gun than a shotgun. But are the .22 bullets cheaper if you can get a license? apart from shotgun cartridges being very expensive i gather they are not particularly accurate. More point in the right direction than a precision shot.
My farmer friend would like to know how you would get permission to operate a machine gun. :) He definitely needs something that causes mass death and destruction.
