Thanks everyone! The total raised on line is £250, and off-line I've got another £82, and with Gift Aid it goes up quite a bit. If all 2,200 people at my event, and all the people at all the other locations got that sort of amount, Cancer Research would be doing quite nicely! And lots of people make a much bigger commitment, and get thousands of pounds in sponsorship, which is incredible!

It's really awe-inspiring to take part in such a major event, but without the vast crowds at something like the London Marathon, and knowing that everybody there is running, jogging or walking for a common cause is great too.

Thanks, Fran! All the money has now gone in to Cancer Research UK - I got an e-mail to confirm that the other day, and the cheques a coupple of people sent me have gone in too - a grand total of Ã?£332, and another about Ã?£50 from the Gift Aid - so thanks again, everyone! What a thing to ask, BM! After all, with the bra-site you put up the link for, how could such a problem possibly occur??? :D

I think Radox would have been a better bet..... ;)

To my shame I didn't know about this... My daughter Becky is organising and running in a 5Km one in London on the 21st. She is running in memory of her dad [my ex-husband] who died 3 years ago of cancer at the age of 54. Any supporters, financial or just to watch, welcome. Becky says no laughing please she isn't a runner! Here's the link:-

My daughter ran the "Race for Life" on behalf of her son. On a related subject, if anyone is interested, they might like to look at this site, www.ryanglover.co.uk [IMG]

:( Oh cajary, what a beautiful grandson you have. It is devastating when we are told that one of our children is sick with a life threatening disease... They are such innocent little fighters caught up in the battle... As they can fight like we can't it seems... I hope he is doing well.

I see that they are looking for donated items to raffle & auction off. I will see what I can come up with...

Please accept my very best wishes to you, your daughter, & especially Ryan.... [IMG] Good Luck..
