I do agree Gemini, I am loving this gorgeous weather and making the most of it but my poor garden needs some moisture. Love the rain dance, looks like you have 4 legs :bbq: just spotted the lovely new smilies!

    Thanks everyone.

Looks like I'm going to get my wish here tomorrow, rain is promised. :yess:Looks like the dancing worked! I'm also glad I got the lawns mowed today before hand.
The question is will it be enough to give everything a good soaking? I also live in a 'pocket' where the rain tends to miss us.

    I'll keep you posted! :)

I was half asleep whilst watching BBC Breakfast News this morning when the discussed the front pages of today's newspapers, but caught something about 'Britain to Roast for a Month', so went to UK Newspaper Front Pages @ Front Pages Today , saw this (NB the image below will change to the current page tomorrow) and investigated further:

A few selected quotes from that site:

"BRITAIN is set to sizzle for a month, and possibly into July, with temperatures that could soar to a wilting 88F (30C) within days."

"Forecaster Brian Gaze of The Weather Outlook said the country will turn “seriously warm” by tomorrow. He cited a weather system known as “Spanish plume” for the roasting temperatures.

"Mr Gaze said: “A ‘ Spanish plume’ is a wedge of very warm air from Spain or North Africa heading north across France and into Britain".

"Heavy thunderstorms are expected to give a brief respite in parts of the country, but they will not be enough to significantly ease the drought.

"Forecaster Barry Gromett said that farmers in the North and West of England should see some rainfall next week, although not above average. And the South and East will remain dry, possibly for the whole of this month."

:yess:The rain dancing must have worked everybody. I woke to the sound of rain this morning and it's been pouring all day. :dbgrtmb: We're promised showers for the next five days. Whoopee!

I can bottle it and send it your way if you like. :)
