Got the dreaded email notification of a full smith period in my postcode & adjoining postcode areas last saturday so have been keeping a watch for signs of blight. All my potato tops have been cut down, so it's just the toms I'm keeping an eye on.

On Tuesday 2 bush tomato plants were showing signs of blight and got removed, and yesterday (Thursday) 4 cordon tomatoes were also showing signs and got removed. Both occurrences were at corners of blocks of approx 200 plants.

I'm used to blight rampaging through tomatoes, but since then there's been no sign of any spread or other areas of infection at all.

P.S. All infected material disposed of in accordance with B.S. 792.
