Making me happy today is the news I have won a two night break [meals included] in a Devere hotel in Ascot. It was a brilliant surprise :yahoo:

Mr Kandy recieved a cheque this week from HMRC as he had overpaid tax in his wages so the £180 will go nice nicely at this time of the year and every little helps:D

Veg's all ready. Turkey thawed and sat in the cool waiting to get stuffed tomorrow.

Wine in hand and OH gone to bed.

            What could be better.

            Roll on Christmas Day.
Oh Sh1t. The kids're coming to dinner. Flogging a dead horse in the kitchen from 6am until 2pm.
Still, the beers in the fridge - it gets warm in the kitchen:o

Mr Kandy had to send back to Apple his 1st generation Ipod Nano when they emailed him to let him know there was a recall on them due to the batteries catching fire:mad:

Anyway,he followed their instructions and sent it back a month ago in the packaging they sent to us and we had to make sure we got proof of posting. On wednesday a parcel arrived at his workplace and on opening it there was an ipod inside:)Mr Kandy at first thought he had been sent the wrong one but when he undid all the wrapping properly realised it was a brand new 6th generation 8gb replacement which on checking on the net costs about £100 to buy:yess:

He is so pleased with it as it has more functions than his first generation one including a pedometer which he uses to see how far he has walked each day which is going to help him now he has 6lb of weight to lose that he put on over crimbo:heehee:

So well done Apple in getting a replacement sent through at no cost to us:dbgrtmb:

I know we're all getting fed up with the incessant wet weather at present, so I thought I'd try to list a few of the positive effects from a gardening point of view.

                      1. Everything looks so lush and green at the moment, this is the most 'verdant' spring we've had for several years. It's a joy to behold all the various subtle shades of green on display.

                      2. No need for watering! Containers and pots are doing just fine, seeds sown outdoors are germinating and growing away without any help at all and bare rooted plants which were planted during the autumn and winter are getting a perfect start and establishing well.
Even greenhouse plants only require the occasional drink at present.

                      3. The moist soil makes hand weeding so much easier. Weeds come away with little effort as they're not having to put out extensive roots in a desperate search for moisture.

                      4. The cool, wet weather means many plants are flowering for longer; the hot, dry spring last year meant many flowers were over in a few days. This year the colours are revealing themselves more gradually.

                      5. Not being bothered by wasps, flies etc while gardening! Hardly seen any so far.

See, not all bad is it? Feel free to add to this list. :)

It's stopped raining now - so the washing's out! Saw not only a Little Egret on the way to the Coop at Winchelsea Beach, but Swallows and Swifts on the way back. AND, I heard my first Cuckoo on Thursday. AND... despite my fears, the ceramic tile adhesive is coming up reasonably well in the hall with the aid of a hairdryer!!

It sure does Shiney, I expect occasionally they get folks who don't bother about the odd penny or two change and so it all equals out in the end. Bully for her though that's great!
