    1. we did a Charity Dinner on Saturday fro the local Hospice. Fed 400 people and it was a roaring success. All the hard work was worht it.
    2. I have had the house to myself now for nearly 2 weeks and it feels incredibly calm. looking forward to keeping that feeling going a bit longer.
    3. off to the RHS show at Malvery Showground on SUnday and looking forward to that.
    4. Did a Creative Journalling course on Sunday, thoroughly enjoyed it and came home inspired.
    :luv: life if good.

This may seem a bit peculiar to put on this thread but I think it deserves it.

Another friend has succumbed to the big C. His funeral was today and it really was a celebration of his life. There were hundreds of people at the funeral and some of his favourite music was played including

[nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fjiapiq-hqY"]YouTube - These Are The Days Of Our Lives[/nomedia]

      and finishing with

[nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cdud4GBRR_Y"]YouTube - Monty Python Always look on the bright side of life[/nomedia]

      Good on you, Brian :gnthb:

Shiney, sometimes funerals can be uplifting - glad you gave your friend a good send off, he would have been pleased you all celebrated rather than commiserated.

There are some lovely posts on here.
I suppose this really is more of a "grateful" than happy post but I have to say my GP makes me happy because he is seeing me every two weeks at the moment and he is wonderful and caring and nothing is too much for him and he even cracked a joke and made me laugh on Thursday. I never feel like laughing when I am there so yes I am happy to have a wonderful GP.

Hi all my friends, I am happy every day,as I count my blessings every morning before I get up,and yes there are days that are sometimes a little more difficult than others, but my blessings and good fortune remain the same every day.As Louis Armstong and the remarkable Eva Cassidy sang " Its a Wonderful World"have a really great day everyone:)

What is making me smile every time I sit at my desk in front of me is Son-In-Sin's birthday list, he wants "Megashark vs Giant Octopus Movie DVD" - bless him, he's only 29 :lollol:

My son's idea of a cultural evening is 'Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack' on the DVD and a family bucket of KFC which he doesn't have to share. So much for the expensive piano lessons and all those other futile attempts at refinement ...

I am happy (for a change:D) as our son has got his first Teaching job after several attempts.
Competing with experienced Teachers isn't easy. It's only covering Maternity leave for a year but it's a start.
Only downside is that he lives in Exeter and the job is in Barnstaple, about 50 miles each way!! still he couldn't turn it down.
