Great stuff Strongy, your son did the right thing in taking the job, 50 miles is a long way but not that unusual for a commute, and in the current job market it's worth it.

I am happy today as I had a lovely day out and came home to find a surprise letter from someone I had been worrying about :)

I'm happy because I've just come back from the vet with my lovely cat William. He was diagnosed as having a very nasty mouth cancer last November and we were told he would only be with us for a few months. But here he is a whole year later: alive, kicking and looking very well indeed for an elderly invalid. The vet now thinks that the (expensive) lab test was wrong. We might have our gorgeous cat for a while yet after all :yho:. (A friend thinks William bribed the last vet so he could have chicken every day and the fire blazing even on mild days.)

I'm happy because I found £200 that I had put in an envelope for emergencies then forgot where I had put it

Luckily I happened to find it in a place by total luck, it must have got picked up with something else. I was waiting for the inevitable moans from OH but he kept amazingly quiet......
