2 things to make me happy

2 things made me happy today:

      1. I'm moving my base at work and it will mean a 10 min drive instead of 45 mins and will save me £100 per month in petrol

      2. Whilst at my parents today we saw something strange lurking behind their fence, my mum and i went to have a look and there trying to get into her garden was a ' Silver Pheasant' absolutely beautiful and he was quite happy to chat with me as i fed him bird seed.

(i can't work out how to do smilies now, have very few to choose from and they won't go in my post?)

      Pixie - Smilies

Click on 'User CP' then 'Edit Option' then scroll down to 'Miscellaneous Options' then in 'Message Editor Interface' change the drop down option to 'Enhanced Interface - full WYSIWIG Editing'. You should then get your smilies. :D

The sun was shining, it was warm and walking through town I heard drumbeats and singing. I came across a group of People from Zimbabwe dressed in white, singing and dancing in the street. I was mesmerized and stood transfixed for ages :):):)

Their dancing to the beat was amazing, one of the best things I have seen for ages.

Had a senior moment today. I bought a few plants from Homebase on the way home from work. Then called into Wickes to pick up some of their cheap compost (4 for price of 3 offer). As I've only got a small car I took out the plants from Homebase to pack the 4 bags of compost then jumped in the car leaving the plants behind on the car park. Silly me :o

After about an hour I suddenly remembered I hadn't got my nice new plants, so I dashed back to Wickes hoping that someone was kind enough to hand them into the store, a very small chance I thought. Luckily someone had found them and moved them onto a trolley and they were waiting for me in their car park. There are some good folk about (or else they didn't fancy my selection of plants)

Wow! That was a bit of good luck

I've got to go to Wickes to get more of their compost. I've found it to be very good and this next lot should bring it over 5,000 litres that I've bought this year :rolleyespink:. I'm now using their 75 litre bags as grow bags as they are such good value :dbgrtmb:.

They know me quite well down there and I don't have to load my car as they get the bags and load them for me :yess:. Very good service, Wickes :yay: :yay:

Shiney, you know you're in the company of a keen gardener when a bag of compost can bring such happiness. Don't get me wrong. I understand completely. I'm now the proud owner of a large bag of well rotted horse muck - over the moon!

I had a brilliant idea in order to keep the ice creams away from the children: I am now hiding them in the vegetables bags.
They will never look in there...eheheh

Shiney/Clare, I took a photo of my stack of Wickes compost bags for posterity - now that really is sad :)

John, the one on the bags is Monty. He comes to help himself to Oscar's food as Oscar rarely eats all of it. Oscar is very good with food and is not a greedy cat whereas Monty is a pig :D. He'll eat anything he can get his paws on. They used to be about the same size when Monty was adopted from the rescue centre by a neighbour up the road but he is now much bigger as he is so fat.

Some of the time the two of them sit quite happily just a few feet apart but Monty then tries to push his luck. He's allowed to eat Oscar's food when Oscar has had enough but he quite often tries to show he is boss and then Oscar has to slap him down. As Monty is now so fat he is not as agile as Oscar although he is much younger. Oscar also allows him to use his greenhouse if it is raining.

Then we have Oscar number three (better known as Billy next door) who, at 16, is a year older than Oscar and is allowed to do anything he wants. Billy has been ill for many years (stomach operations) and Oscar lets him get away with anything :).

Then there is Oscar number four, new boy on the block, nicknamed Fluffy, who is a bit nervous but also is allowed to finish Oscar's food. Fluffy and Monty were having a howling match the other day whilst Oscar was 'asleep' 10ft away.

Things can get a bit confusing at times :loll:
