Ah, life's simple pleasures.

After a hot day at work, I'm just enjoying a quick browse on GC, with a cold beer and Tony Blackburn on the radio... livin' the dream!

 

My garden is coming along really well this year....it's the little things isn't it?

Isn't it great when you try something new in the garden and it works out?

Back in January 2015, on a cold winter's afternoon I planted up a small strip at the edge of the herbaceous border. I've just looked back at my post and accompanying photo on here at the time:

Like most of us thrifty gardeners, I'm always potting up seedlings and trying to get things going from cuttings and among the various specimens I've produced this way were some small lavender and variegated box.

So, after clearing the edge of the bed, I've planted these in an alternate, staggered row around the curve. I've no idea whether this combination will work, I've not seen it tried before, I guess time will tell if it's a good combination or not.



Well, this is how it looks today. I think it's worked out pretty well.
