I still have to click twice to both post and save edits. Plus there's an intermittent problem that prevents amendment of anything in the first edit screen necessitating selecting More Options to be able to change anything (and then have to click twice to save it).

I have to click twice on everything including the 'Upload a File' button. The like button etc, is a minimum of two hits, taking me up to six on occasions.

Do you get the "progress indicator" (top right) after the first press (but then nothing happens) or do you not even get that?

If you get "progress indicator" then its an issue with AJAX (the posting of your action without the page having to reload). As an alternative you could try right-click LIKE and chose "Open in new tab" and see if you get an error message in the new tab - if so that might shed some light on it (I find that the error reporting of AJAX is much more limited than actions that refresh the page)

Thanks Kristen.......Yes I do get the 'progress indicator' but only briefly. I've tried your suggestion of 'Open in new tab' but there was nothing displayed. In the busier periods on here it's a lot worse and I find that's the same for my picture issues as well, but that's another tale. :)

I'm scratching my head as to what to make of that.

If AJAX was struggling to communicate with the far end I would expect the progress bar to run for ages and then either stop (i.e. give up) or actually time out (and display a "failed" message of some sort). For it to run for only a short time suggests that it thinks that it worked OK (or there was an error detected immediately - but in that case I would expect a message of some sort).

Probably been asked this before, but is your Java up to date? (I'm not even sure it is using Java, but it might be).

Opening in new window and getting nothing seems like the same thing. It thinks it has worked but actually has not done anything.

I'm struggling to see how that outcome can arise ... it should either be a proper outcome, or an error (although I can believe that AJAX fails to display an error, we have that problem with it in development of our software too - but open-in-new-TAB should be just the same as loading a page normally).

Can't think of anything else to suggest short of sitting at your computer and trying various diagnostic tools. Sorry.

Kristen......Okay, thanks for the help. I'll check out Java sometime in the next couple of days, to be honest I can't remember the last time it was updated, so you could have an idea there to try. I'll let you know the outcome. :)
