I posted on the site with no problem today on my sisters pc over at her place. No problems experienced at all. I have just pressed on that link you gave and reverted back and now I am not having problems here. Is this the answer?

@moyra does this mean that it's a problem with your GC account then? Maybe you could just reregister on GC? Maybe @Zigs would know if that's a good idea? :dunno:

It's probably not a problem with the account if you can log on from a different computer without hassle Moyra, more than likely its something on your own computer thats incompatible with GC.

I know this sounds awkward, but now we've narrowed it down to either your computer or your home internet connection, is there any chance you can try your Sisters laptop at your house?

If that works then its not the connection.

Just a thought, do you have any child locks/controlls for the use of the internet, which may not be helping in any way

Zigs ,Her pc is not a laptop unfortunately. I have come to think it must be the AVG but it was perfectly ok before. I think I will try turning off the AVG then posting on here and see how that goes. I will give it a try now.

Jiffy, Not that I am aware of don't know what to do next.

Zigs, If I treat myself to a laptop then I am not sure that will fix it.

That's why I suggested borrowing one first, don't want you wasting your money if that's not the problem.

Not sure what to suggest now, short of restore factory settings, but that would wipe all your stuff off.

Anyone know how to back up stuff before doing that?

Start Windows in Emergency mode, or whatever it is call? I think that would prevent all the normal "addons" from loading, you could then fire up the browser and see if that makes any difference. If it does then it is something installed on your machine ...

If not then try same experiment with a different browser so that then rules out any add-ons to the browser.

It all seems so complicated. I have too many of Steve's picture files on here now to take it back to factory. I have thought of taking AVG right off and Chrome. Then look at other possibilities.

What is annoying me is everything was ok until the change on the site and then it all went wrong.

Moyra I used to have AVG & I found that it was in conflict in my machine with other programs I had & it didn't like Chrome or Firefox in those days... It caused me a load of problems.. So I un-installed it... I now use Avast which doesn't conflict with anything.. Otherwise I think it must be a permission somewhere in your machine..
Also if you have a lot of photos on there they are usually big files & that will cause your operating system to struggle with everything.. ;) I found that out the hard way a long time ago.. Take them off onto memory sticks or put them on an external hard drive.. Take as much off your machine as possible, defrag it a couple of times, clear your cookies & then try again... Good luck as it must be driving you nuts.. :dunno:
