    Hi

Got my Pyracantha today, They are all between 10" & 12" tall. I have put them in pots (they came in polly bags) Should I keep them in the greenhouse or leave them out side?

i d keep em in a cold frame or cold greenhouse for two weeks, to harden them off ........ and i tend to plant them when the weather is mild an no frost forecast for a week, make sure the roots are damp be4 you plant em ... i tend to dip roots in a waterbutt rather than using a watering can

We didn't use any stakes when we planted ours and it's now a hedge to be proud of, nice and sturdy. [IMG]

i think it l be 2-3 years be4 you can say "hedge", o and i'd lightly prune those leaders, you want to encourage a low shrubby growth in the first year
the ground should be dug to inprove drainage, and some compost added in the area around the planting to give them a good start

aparantly pete2255 dosnt like it. says it to political.

Well all I can say is if Bush gets his way we might not be able to garden in the future. and pete it might not say a lot about my gardening but it just showes you are shelow and make judgments on what you first see.

Lets not get political on a gardening forum eh, this is one place where we can come and we don't have to be constantly reminded of politics. Lets make this a politics free zone, theres enough misery going on in the world. :(
