Did a bit of research on the net and it seems they were 1st spotted in the South East of England. However they are now just about everywhere in Britian so will be keeping a beady eye out for them. Does sound as tho there aren't any really effective (not banned by EU sigh) sprays against them either. Sincerely hope they aren't as damaging as Vine Weevil which again doesn't seem to have an effective control available to us amateur gardeners at any rate.

I can send you some if you want, silu:snork: The beetle can fly and gets carried on the wind and will home in on Lilies and Fritillaria without a problem. However, it's not the Beetle that does the damage but it's larvae which are hard to kill with sprays are they cover themselves in their own excretions. Unfortunately, buying just the bulbs will not protect you from the beetle because, like I said, it can fly and will come in on the wind.:dunno::gaah:

Oh thanks Armandii, please sent them to.........! Can't wait for my "present":lunapic 130165696578242 5:. As a swap/ payback which would you prefer, an all consuming deer which had NOT departed despite it being summer or a ewe and her 2 lambs which are competing with "Bambi" as to who can scoff more of my garden.
