Hi, I wouldn`t want to offend ANYONE. But, this is PC gone mad. Makes me angery too. Do other countries worry about our sensibilities ? I think not.

Who rules us? Why, the EU of course
And London couldn't contemplate anything or any one who could out do them by putting on a better show on their own patch. Remember the millenium fiasco? Boozups in breweries comes to mind and as far as military background is concerned, that excuse is about as realistic as the organisers of the Olympics being British themselves (yes, I know some are). I'm sure the hundreds of allotment holders around the site of the Olympics will be only to glad to see their prized gardens buried under thousands of tons of concrete, just to ensure a 'low maintenance profile' for the short duration of this money guzzling debacle.

I didn't know that the Red Arrows were so much as a British symbol, but I know now.
In that case: yes, I definitely think that they should perform in occasion of the Olympics.
Not only because that would be next door to me (yeah!!) but, as a host, it is only kind to offer something which is distinctive of your Country.

I don't think it is toadying to other countries and what has the EU got to do with it? The other countries would probably want it cause lets face it who does not mind a good display and they get invited all round the world by other countries anyway.
Its down to some jumped up twerp on a power trip who thinks they know whats best. Don't blame other countries when its someone in Britain making an ass out of us on this issue.

My local MP (definitely NOT a member of the party in power) told me that this is rubbish. The Olympic organisers will make decisions of this nature, not Whitehall or Brussels.

You're right borrowers, it was probably first published in the Sunday Sport. [IMG] :D

So can anyone say exactly who or where the 'ban on red arrows' came from?

just got back on this thread. what is the matter with this country? we have enough to worry about.
why should i have to watch QI to learn the truth? i know i should read papers, watch news - but i find them all full of s**t. depends on who you like.
thanks to you all for trying to give the facts.
blimey the worst thing on here would be a political thread/forum or whatever it's called. there must be one on the net. i don't look. i like here. makes me bad doesn't it i'm sure. do i vote? yes.
    cheers
