Great idea! Let's see how this idea works. I seriously didn't realise how difficult it would be. Nor how amazing this website (and Wise Owl) would be.

Fingers crossed for a positive outcome.

Good morning @cazza quin thank you for your most kind post above my friend, gardeners Corner is bursting at the seams with the kindest and warm hearted members that's what makes it stand out and above all the other gardening Forums;)

I don't know how to use Facebook/Twitter as I am a dinosaur:heehee: but if anyone does that would be a great way of locating your Rose:ideaIPB:

I have emailed the local newspaper in Southport lets see how that goes shall we:smile: enjoy your day my friend:smile:

Red Rum wasn't just loved in Southport but also in Liverpool too. He ran in the Grand National at Aintree racecourse which is in Liverpool and just up the road from where I live. There is a statue of him at Aintree and he is buried at the finishing line.

As far as Bees Ltd is concerned, I'm not sure but I don't think it's a going concern anymore? Wasn''t it incorporated along with Sealand Nursery into Ness Botanic Gardens on the Wirral? These gardens are on the other side of the River Mersey. I'll tag in @stephenprudence. He's a member of Ness and may know more. Any ideas Steve? Wasn't Arthur Kiplin Bulley the founder of Bees Ltd and the gardens he created where given to the University of Liverpool and became Ness Botanic Gardens. It's a long shot but maybe these organisations know something about the Red Rum rose seeing as it was bred by Bees Ltd?

I reckon also that there are Red Rum roses in Liverpool gardens somewhere......you only need a cutting. :spinning:

He did indeed establish Bee's nurseries (Arthur Kilpin Bulley), I don't know a huge amount, but I know as he was a business man it was in his nature. His daughter actually gave the gardens to Liverpool University, on the premise that the gardens would be opened to the public, on the order of Arthur himself. I have never personally seen any rose that had any connection to Red Rum in Ness Gardens however.

Good evening all ,I managed to get in touch with The American Rose Society

                    Hello Woo

After checking several; sources I am not finding it. It's my guess that the rose didn't perform well and it was never produced again. Otherwise you'd see it somewhere to buy!
Solution! Get a red Knockout rose and call it Red Rum!
                    Sorry I couldn't help

Shergar look what happened with that poor horse .

I just wonder how many "Red Rum " roses were actually produced ?

I would imagine they will be growing in someones garden and they havnt a clue , did you mange to find a photo of one ?

I will ask on another garden Forum that has members in America and Canada you never know
