Yes, the Virginia blue bell spread out in clumps, they just pop babies every were, even inbetween cement walks, little ones show up. I will get a shot of another area when I get home later. When you transplant them, they are very unhappy and just flop, but the next year they are happy. So some would think they killed them when transplanting, but don't worry. Every year about end of May when my big area of them are spent, and then they start to flop on the next layer of plants (other plants) I just cut them off at the quick just above the soil line and heave the plant material into the fire pit. It does not seem to hurt them at all. Next year the area is loaded again, even larger.

Ooh they sound a delight to have.. I shall certainly be getting some of them.. I have found a couple of suppliers over here.. Even the Mayapples can be found here.. I think I might get a few of them, as I think they would compliment the Snowdrops Hellebores daffs and English bluebells I already have up there and the Virginia bluebells I am going to get.. :) It should be a pretty site next year I hope.. Thanks so much Redstar..

Except for a late blooming variety of snowdrops --which will you will see in this next film---the regular early bloomng snowdrops are done before the Virginia bells bloom. The Virginia bells bloom at the same time a good hellebores is still in bloom. I always say in the spring I am a billionare, cause I get a billion Mayapples in several gardens, keeping some, and ripping some out to keep a non overwhelmed look of them. They are about $2.00 a pot here. Alot of the green grassy stuff in the garden, in this below video are left over green from early bulbs and beginnings of some alliums. There is a time element where, as the Virginia Blue bells start to end then they flop onto the new oncoming plants, it is those area that get cleaned out first to let the new plants stand up. I am told in a woodland area the Virginia bells leaves go away to nothing eventually. One thing they do not do is strangle any near-by plants, just flop on them.
So enjoy this one. I am trying not to walk so fast, or be more steady.

Oh that was a lovely walk.. Thank you.. The little Anemones are lovely and will be a picture.. I have some white and some pinky ones but only a few so far.. The Mayapples are sold over here for $6 a pot :yikes: and they are not that big, but hope to establish some for next year then they can rassle..

The Virginia Bluebells are $13 -$14 a pot, but hey if they rassle and double up I don't mind waiting a bit for a good show..
I may find them a bit cheaper later in the year..

I love Hardy Geraniums and have several varieties and colours also some Geums but they are not always so hardy..

my hardy geraniums must be double hardy, even in the dead of winter with snow on top of them they are still there, perhaps a little less, but the leaves still there. Now they just get fuller. So easy to make more from them, just take a reaching root, wack it off and put it in the ground.

So about 18years ago, looking for a vine to climb on my deck, wanted one that smelled great, but talked myself into this honeysuckle vine, and never looked back, it has continuous blooms all summer, and hummers just love it. (but no smell). I prune it some, every couple years to keep a little tidy look, but for the most part let it do its thing. And see the cat in the back--that is Phantom. I enjoy many a evening just sitting on the deck --with a glass of wine, watching the hummers dart back and forth in the flowers. I do have the feeder hanging there in case they need more food. In the morning coffee is the beverage for a morning sit, before my stress full day at work. So this is the view I have from my seat on the deck.
