Yeah, general purpose fertiliser. 7-7-7 I think. Nothing fancy.

Yeap, fingers toes everything crossed. Hopefully this comes up well. Did not have to water it today as it has been raining for the past few hours.

Now I will tackle the side garden need to till and level. Then same seeding regime for it hopefully by the next 3 weeks.

Now I am worried for the seed. It has been raining heavy for 14 hours straight. It is probably going to be washed away.

Just checked as it stopped raining for a few minutes. Yep. Washed a lot of seed of the soil down into the drain. :wallbanging:

I'm sorry, isn't that just typical Mosamahab! I think the best thing to do now is wait for it to germinate and then re-seed the areas that are bare.

Yeap, the aftermath was not pretty. I was fuming. At least I do not have to water it for a day or two. But quite a lot of seed wasted.

Clumps of seed that must not have properly bedded into the soil after rolling were formed all over the soil, on the sides near the hedges and all the way down the slope where the water streamed its way to the drain.

But it is what it is. I will see how it comes up in a few weeks and take it from there.

As soon as it appears which should be in the next week or so you will be able to see and re-seed those bare areas. It won't take long to catch up with the rest.

Yeah, hoping that the grass seed that was spared by mother nature does germinate.

        There's no reason why it shouldn't. :)

Look where my seed decided to grow. LOL

Rain washed the seed down the slope and it is growing nice and thick there.

It looked all right but I can see some bare spots to the right middle/right bottom. Might just need more time to germinate or maybe add some more seed in a few days if there is still no growth.

Yes, I'd leave it a few days then re-seed where necessary.

I think I am going to leave it till Tue/Wed then assess where it needs reseeding. Full two weeks should be enough time for the fescue to germinate as well. Whatever hasn't probably is not going to anyway at that point. I seeded around 50-60 g/m2 but perhaps it needs more, rain washed some away etc.

Hopefully in two weeks, I shall also be seeding the front garden. That should give it enough time to establish itself before the winter months kick in.

When I seed I put down the necessary quota then add some extra for failures and rain issues like yours, then a little more in case birds decide to steal. :)
