I'm delighted that this thread has encouraged you to try and resurrect your Coreopsis - I have no experience with them so I don't know if they are as robust as Petunias appear to be when damaged by slug and snails, but there's no harm in trying. I hope that you have as much success with yours as I did with mine - please update here if you can and also take some photos of the process as I have done. :)

Presumably your Coreopsis is also damaged by slugs/snails?

Will do, and thank you. Yes, eaten to bare stems. At night my garden looks like Oxford Street in London on Christmas Eve, there are so many slugs and snails! I am very surprised your petunias have bounced back. Your timely post has retrieved my poor ant.... for now :th scifD36:

IMG_2050.JPG Well, here are the remains of the coreopsis. Was headed for the green bin, but having seen how you have resurrected your petunias, there's nothing to lose....! Just about to give it some tomorite. Fingers crossed!

That's certainly been stripped bare! Here's hoping for a resurrection. :)

Well, can't do any harm to try. :) Not sure if those plants are as robust as Petunias, but we'll see. :)

Irmemac, I think it will be just fine. Not sure it needs anything other than keeping it slug/snail free for the rest of the summer.

Amazing. Love the resurrection! If you want your flowers to be perfect, best is to leave them indoors. My outdoor double lilies Elena have been stripped of their leaves and the blooms look very stressed because of the damage. My ismene spider lilies x 2 have been eaten up by bugs overnight and was a one-day wonder. ..The campanula pink octopus has been slugs' delicacies .. I have now left it indoors.

That's very true, the flowers on my outdoor petunias look especially bad after just a day or two due to water/sun damage.

Verdun, thank you. That sounds encouraging! Hate when I lose a plant.

I can hardly believe my eyes, but this morning my coreopsis has 5 new tiny leaves! I think the well wishes here must have worked. Will post a photo in a few days when they are big enough to show clearly.

IMG_2067.JPG Here is the coreopsis. The 5 new leaves are to the left and right sides, but are a little blurry. Whilst inspecting before taking a photo I found another two pairs of leaves, taking the grand total to 9!
