    Can I say the compost looks a bit claggy.:smile:
    Picture 25th may 003 appears to have a root bottom right.

    Claggy? :nonofinger: It's Cactus & Succulent compost!

    No such luck, Pete, with rooting! :sad: What you see I think is just one of the hairs pointing down.

    Well it doesn't look like cactus compost but you probably need something with a bit more fibre for these.
    I was looking at this bit here in red.

      @pete, I took a closer look at the actual plant itself after your comment but it definitely isn't a root, just a hair.

      As my original plant + the rooted cutting from it which I took the day it arrived + the rest of the cuttings I took some months ago, including the one above, sit in the Bird of Paradise pot. They have been there for several months now together with a couple of Epiphyllum (Orchid Cacti) small plants.

      I've just taken this photo & I see that one of the cuttings IS producing roots. :dbgrtmb:

      Sorry about the terrible colour! I'll have to take another picture tomorrow in daylight & not under artificial light.

        This is where all the little plants are now. They are in the shadiest corner of the balcony while they acclimatise to the great outdoors.
