      Sal - you were good enough to send me some seeds recently. One New Zealand blue has germinated and is growing happily. I used the baggie method, but some have gone soft and squishy and are obviously dead, and a couple have gone black - but are still firm.

      I dug up some of the seeds that had not germinated (from my first batch). They showed signs of life, so I just loosened the compost around them and left them to carry on (and as noted above a couple have germinated since - no idea if the two actions are related though ... although I suppose I would have enabled more air to get to the seed)

      After last frost. I think they will do better with warm nights, so I wait until 1st June ... but if you have plants that are getting large for their containers, and they are fully hardened off, then might be better to get them out (if no further risk of frost where you are, or you can fleece them).

      Rare for frosts much later into May that we are now ... but "never cast a clout until May is out" as the saying goes ...

      got to be very carefull with ricinus , no too much water , almost like growing a cactus ....

      I`ve been select all the seeds to give away and find myself with the left over ...they didn`t germinate .

      Joolz , wait.... to my expirience they tend to have roots rotting very easy in cold and wet .
