    Hi, loll. Glad you got there in the end. I'm trying to find a site that explains the loss of an entire column in Afghanistan. If you find it, maybe you could post the link:).
    All too relevant, in this day and age;)

    Hello again Cajary,

    I will post it if I can find it. I was wondering, as I like little details,and forgive me if you have already read it, can I recommend a good read as well as a very informative book I read a couple of years ago, about the British soldier and it`s evolution. It is predominately about those serving during the Napoleonic period and talks about a great deal including the minutiae of cost of shirts and things. Very interesting, it is called Redcoat by Richard (I think it`s Richard) Holmes.

    Hi plant. Glad I'm not the only one that has trouble with that link. I'll go through the military history site and find it. Actually, I think they lost a whole army!
    Thanks loll. I'm going on holiday soon. I'll hunt out that book so I've got plenty of time to read it without g-children pulling my ears and wanting to play football.
