    Served him right :hehe:

Rosa; I wonder if you had a good look at the other plots and if others are growing flowers? If they are they can't stop you. Also you don't have to be so open with them, if they want to play at silly b****s, just agree to veggies, you don't have to tell them you are planting a 'few' companion rows of flowers. I find it hard to believe there will be a list of prohibited flowers.

Rosa, tell your friend he needs to contact these people and it might be worth joining to get some advice.People have grown flowers on allotments since peasants were first encouraged to grow food crops for their families.:)

You have to stand up to bullies and show them you are made of sterner stuff:gnthb:

hi everyone, what had happened my friend when he had his name on the list was asked iff he wants a plot for hens, flowers or veg and he said vegetables so this is what she told him which to me seems ridiculous so i will call him tommorow and get him to write all this down for when he goes to the meeting, the meeting by the way is a guy tried to take over his plot and he told him to get out so the guy put a complaint in about him and thats why hes up in front of the committee but little do they know my friend got the guy on his dictaphone threatening him so hes taking it to the meeting and hes going to point all this out about flowers to the committee while hes there.
so lets hope all works out ok and iff so i might get my little plot sorted, thanks for great advice everyone

My goodness Rosa your buddy is my kind of person!

I hate bullies and when you think about it the fool that is causing all this fuss (for you and your buddies) he really doesn't have a leg to stand on because if they are so very strict on what you can and can not grow they should also be strict on the behavior side too.

On our site bullies are not welcomed although one or two may try it on it doesn't wear with me I like to watch them boil in their own meaness when they see me talking and laughing to everyone but them!:hehe: Is that mean of me?:hehe:

Good luck Rosa's pal I'm sure you will sort the bad guys out! Hel.xxx.

Love the summerhouse idea, Rosa, but it could be worth asking you this. How secure is the allotment you're working? The trouble today is that so much is stolen from allotments, and with those windows, everything will be on show to those with evil intent. If we only lived in a perfect world...

hi strawman, ive not got my allotment yet but when i do get one i am going to have it fenced with a locked door and when i eventually get the summerhouse it has locks and i will put curtains up, just seen this other summerhouse a bit more expensive a billy oh monte carlo summerhouse.
this is just an idea at the moment just thought it will be nicer than a shed.

Can't think of anything I'd like better than the summerhouse you've chosen. I had the idea of building something just like that in front of my pond, a place to chill out on a hot summer's day with a cool glass of apple juice. Keep us up with the news on how this is going, Rosa. I'm dying to see the result. I reckon you'll have it planted up just like your balcony, and it'll be amazingly beautiful...

hi strawman, when i was younger my nan had a summerhouse like the one above it was great it was at the bottom of her garden and we used to often go sit in there and when it rained it was ideal so was thinking getting an allotment it would be the perfect thing to have, the downside i could wait up to 3 years for my own allotment, still it will be worth it, calling the council next year see how far im on list.

Hi Rosa, I'm glad your friend is no pushover- sounds a good mate to have. :thumb:

I love the sheds/summerhouses and it will look lovely as you have so many ideas going on now :)

Rosa when I met up with my "cyber friend" she took me round her allotment and around all the others to meet some of the owners ( she works for the council!) and they had such an assortment of sheds, flowers, veg - it was lovely to see.

    I feel happy for you.
