Love the sketches rosa, especially the horses!

I really think you should have a go with pastel, you can use coloured pastel paper as a background, say light brown, and use dark brown pastel to get the effect you have in the horses pix. but for real.

    thanks marley and dag.
Dag i tried charcoal and it is awful to work with so i prefer my hb pencils, just cannot get away with that charcoal takes all my detail off my drawings.

Rosa, I don't like charcoal either, and pastel takes a bit of getting used to, if you use a bit of sandpaper to keep a good sharp edge on the chalk, you can get all the detail you need. Best of all the white or light colours will go over anything, and are ideal for finishing off highlights at the end......oh well, each to his own! :D :D

dag going out this morning into local town centre will take a look at the pastels, I bought a large tin of coloured pencils and charcoal pencils and they are awful to work with going to give them to my grandson.
yes i can see the pastels for finishing off may get some and i am also going into the art shop for larger art paper than A3 and doing them horses again for my friend i think the horses could be better on a large size so looks as iff i will be on more like 6 hours doing a large one for her, just not happy with the A3 size, wish me luck :D :D
