Fantastic! The river is excellent and I certainly would do nothing more to it. So easy to spoil watercolour by fiddling with them. With oils and acrylics you can keep on adding little touches, but you can't with water colours because you will get horrible stains and "cauliflowers".

Well done indeed! You must get it framed now.

I agree, rosa, you've done well through your trials and tribulations with it.

I also agree with Hornbeam that with watercolour you have to be careful. That is why I only use acrylic because I can correct and correct, if necessary, but at the same time build up to create an almost 3D effect. It's also permanent and washable. I don't think oils ever dry.

    I also love using canvas.

But, well done, my Sweetie, and I look forward to seeing it framed. [IMG]

thank you LoL, got away with taking the river away and replacing it, I didnt want to get into canvas work as i havnt the room iff i can make water colour work will stick to them.
oils are nice but they get dirty after a time and the water colours you can put glass over them.

Now rosa, you say you can put glass over watercolour, that's if it's framed. You could use canvasboard rather than stretched canvas like I do which, yes, takes up space.

Just a thought, and DAG and Hornbeam can comment here, can you use watercolour or Gouche (never spell it right) on canvasboard?

I have a friend here who used to design fabric and Gouche is the only medium they use for it supposedly because of the texture you can get.

LoL yes you can put glass over water colours but not normally over oils.

Pretty sure you can't use watercolour or gouache on canvas as they both need to soak into an absorbent surface.

Gouache is watercolour paint with opaque white added. That makes it opaque and no longer transparent so you can add layer to layer like you do with oils and acrylics. You lose the beauty of tranparent watercolour, but can work up layers. You can use it on tinted paper and even coloured pastel papers. Used with plenty of water, it can be effective

thanks wildflower and kandy finished at last apart from a couple of mishaps i enjoyed doing it.
kandy when i get around to it will do you a sunset, got my eye on a few of yours that would be lovely.
I looked for Gouache couldnt get it so i will have to go to the Art shop in my area for it providing i can get it there as i need a large tube as you go through so much white for mixing.
