"An American-bred rose named in the 1950's after Britian's young monarch...has become one of the worlds greatest roses. It will grow almost anywhere...but it is not sutiable for a small bed, as it grows 1.5 m or more. Plant it as a specimin shrub or as a hedge; best of all put it at the back of a border with lower growing roses in front.." DR D G Hessayon

    Great choice fat controller :dbgrtmb:

just looked online and a few sites say full sun to partial shade. Hopefully someone that knows will be along soon

Roses like all the sun they can get FC and I'm not sure that your rose will be happy in that situation. You can take the risk of course and if it's not happy move it at the end of next year.

        Thanks :)

I've already got one rose at the back (no idea which variety, bought it in Marks on a whim last year!), and it seemed to do reasonably well this year so I'll give it a shot and move it if its not happy.

Bought one for aged parent a couple of years ago, and stuck it in a pot. Plenty of pong to it and a good shaped red flower. Only just finished flowering.Only downside to it is, it doesn't like being battered by heavy rain. Anyway got another couple this year and stuck them in the ground so fingers crossed - and of course T&M donate a couple of quid to charity for every sale.

Good morning F/C should,nt be a problem but please remember a rose will only grow as tall or wide as you want it,Queen Elizabeth only grows tall if you leave it to its own devices:)
