We have a shop in a town 7 miles from home - if no-one is home for a delivery the posties bring it to the shop for us!

with being in a flat on 3rd floor our post boxes are on the ground floor and royal mail will not come upstairs to deliver anything that will not go in the post box, I had a right argument with royal mail about it, to no avail they said they are not insured iff their staff fall on the stairs.
My postman however is a really nice guy and he will deliver to mine or iff i pass him outside he will sort my mail from his bundle.

Just to give credit where due - my son posted a packet to me from Middlesbrough during his lunch hour on Wednesday. It arrived at 8.30 on Thursday morning :D

I would get a packet on time but have to go downstairs to take it from royal mail, but last year had a problem they where saying i was not in and taking my packages to our local post office where i was charged for picking it up there. I did complain to head office royal mail and our local branch got a telling off for not making an efford to deliver.Royal Mail send me a book of stamps it was their way of apology
Does not happen now, had no problems since.
