Lovely photo's Rosa, you have done well to gte the close ups of the Herons. We only ever see them flying overhead or they are too far away to get good shots.Mind you if they are nesting in that area and have chicks to feed as ong as there is enough food then they will stay:)

This place looks like a nice place to visit and I bet it gets lots of visitors when the weather is good:thmb:

thank you kandy for the great comments, The herons live there, seen a large nest in them reeds were the heron was but there was no young, apparently the locals call the herons henry and henrietta, we are going again another day when weather is better so im taking my fuji camera and we are going to take some sandwiches and coffee and my friend is taking her book while i sit and get pics, hoping i get the kingfishers when they arrive and maybe some baby herons, the camaront bird was there pics not that great maybe i get better ones, the royal quays park is right next to the marina were the boats come in off the river tyne.
there is police patrols down there i would say these birds need protecting as we saw lots of beer cans in the lakes not nice at all.

Ha ha Rosa,I thought you had been talking about the blue boat in the second photo and I thought it was a complex behind, then saw the front of it and realised it was the ship you had been talking about:dh::D I expect they have tugs to pull them into the harbour backwards and then they are facing the right way ready to go off.:D It owuld be no good me going on those big liners because they would have to give me a sat nav to find my way from steerage to the top deck:lollol::thmb:

Love the photo of the pigeons kissing.Isn't love grand even in the bird world:thumb::D
